barshaa ji,
i don't understand what you mean by can not be re-evaluated?!? if people sit their hands off and say "it'll never change" (to try to mean that "it has to be changed!"), then i believe & $deity forbid, it'll never change. Given that the govt. is sleeping, its the people of nepal who run the govt, not the other way around. If we want change something badly enough, we have got to voice it through local representatives or authority-in-charge.

It beats me for the upthinth time, why do the drivers in nepal have to drink n drive? if i were one of the passenger, i'd kick his butt :p for making the whole driving experience "INSECURE" (for endangering myself, others and then to the driver (him|her)self).

Peace to the lost soul (I hope this was clear in my first posting otherwise I wouldn't have commented the post in the first place).

Agreed completely with uttam. The school admin is to be blamed regardless of whatever excuse it may come up with. And nepbabu, if u think anything will be re-evaluated in nepal , execuse me !! Think what if the tractor wasn't parked in the highway ( highway is a public property and that owner or driver parked it there for two days before it finally ended in disaster ). Couldn't it be towed away for violating the road-rules ? The government is sleeping and it doesnt even wake after such a ground-shaking mishap. Another tractor wont be parked that way, no-one can guarantee this. Its so unfortunate that for the mistakes of some heads, so many pure innocent souls lost heir lives. May all the deceased rest in heaven in peace. We all are culprits, forgive us.

bus overloaded with school kids going/returning from picnic and other visits are so common here. there should be proper regulations on school buses especially. seat belts, communication with driver (via cell phone or walkie-talkie) are basic requirements all over the world. when will we even start to follow that??

but the real cause here seems to be drunk-driving. is it lack of responsibility or negligence?? it was a tragic accident but by all means totally preventable. how long does it take to learn from our mistakes??

may all rest in peace.

Thats the same school where i studied for 7 yrs and i know many of the victims. My fav. teacher, Usha Sedain, is no longer now. She used to teach us GULMOHAR. Its very hard feeling. Many of the fallen children were from my neighborhood.

I blame school administration for this tragedy. There were too much students in bus, there was no need to go that far( considering majority were little kids).
There are 3/4 picnic spot between chitwan and hetuda and any of them would have worked, preferably shaeed smarak. They leave from school too late, 7.30 am
( considering their destination) .. and they were late to return. It was 9pm when accident occurred and they were still abt good 2 hrs drive from hillbird. COMMON !!! with a little kids in a winter season, its ridiculous.

Its so sad when small kids pay the price for stupidity of bad & stingy administration. May all rest in peace.

How can a fscking driver drink n drive? i strongly disagree that one need NOT come to terms with this kind of accident. I mean seriously dude, the whole concept of not wearing seat belts, not drinking n driving and "safety for the passenger" needs to be re-evaluated as well!
